Timing and Time slots

When having companies present for an award it should be done at the general sessions. Also the attendees should have a say at least that they are included in the process. I say this could have been better timed as well as some sessions being 10 or 15 min will not give the speakers enough time to really give the subject they are covering justice. thanks

Too much IT

I agree IT is driving our world and can really make a difference in reducing overall operating costs with the right solution but it was beat to death in so many boring presentations. The best presentation which most will agree on and made the conference a success was Jason Young's presentation which referenced little to no IT. The $2500 put out for the conference was extremely over priced. I talked to some people who didn't even have to pay the admission fee and they felt putting out the cost of the hotel and travel wasn't worth it. There needs to be more variety. As Joseph Molesky put it in his presentation, A Fresh Perspective on Change Management, I didn't understand half the information that others presented put I do understand people and the nuts and bolts of my business. Field Service needs to get back to the nuts and bolts and the people who make it happen. By the way, did you see how quickly you cleared the room with those Help Huddles. I think those were helpful for the people how liked to hear themselves talk.

Conference is ok, but not cutting edge--No "wow factor".

My review of the events, were some good, some fair, some hum drum. The goal of the focus of the show was fuzzy. So you can be prepared to know the subject matters better. Service work have multiple focus's: there are the logistics parts, the ITOH, the regulatory, the customer service segments and ordering processing. Either cover them by day or have the show cover a single subject. Plus 4 days is too long where the last day is really not productive and not fair to the presenters since everyone is leaving, including the Field Service leaders. (my observation all the leaders and support team were gone day 4, an insult to those who stayed the whole time).. Day 4 was not necessary. Do a Monday to Weds event and suggest move to Las Vegas, as Palm Springs is hard to get to, and the hotel is too busy getting weekend concert people in and us out. (PS you may get more and it's cheaper). In general, show was ok , not great, and not something I would attend annually as there was nothing new and nothing "blew my mind". Again, make it 3 days so it's fair to all presenters cause the crowd was down to 20 people Friday. Not very good event planning. AV team make things work good this time, and food was good. Need to get "new" people to come too, as the suppliers in the bull pen were commenting on seeing "old clients" but not new leads much. Makes them wonder if they should spend the $$ to come. So not a rosy review, but I call it like I experienced it.

Too much selling

Someone made the point at lunch that if you take away the presenters and the exhibitors there would be only one person at the conference, which summed up my impression. Too much selling in the peresentations and discussions. There was also too big an emphasis on the field service tech, how to dispatch and how to sell through service. Would have liked to see more logistics topics.
