A single summer of downhill bike-park riding destroyed my Specialized's OEM headset. Regardless of adjustment, couldn't get the squeaking, creaking, groaning to stop. ZX took it apart, sent me photos showing the corroded bearings and pitted races. Out went the shitty FSA, and in went a Chris King headset. Now no noise and with the superior seals of CK, this headset will last longer than my frame.
