Sloyd Knife Blade.

I have purchased several blades from Deepwoods Ventures and have never been disappointed. So I had no hesitation when buying this blade. Again, an excellent piece of craftsmanship arrived sharp and ready to go to work. I recommend Paul’s work to all my friends looking to purchase spoon knives and was so glad to see this new offering.

Almost to gorgeous to use !

Well, I received my Sloyd Knife with the leather sheath from Paul at Deepwoods Ventures and and wanted to sit down right away and write a review because it is so beautiful ! I even let it sit a couple days just so I could look at it. LOL Now I'm glad I waited so I can give a more accurate review. I just started whittling a few months ago and have been using a couple cheaper but reputable knives with no complaint really. Well let me say my new Sloyd Knife from Deepwoods Ventures cut every bit as good as it looks. It actually cuts through my wood like butter. I've whittled with it a lot over the last couple weeks and with just a little stropping it comes right back as razor sharp as the day it arrived. It also feels awesome in my hand. I LOVE IT ! To know Paul literally hand crafts each of these knives shows his obvious concern for quality. I also received a small spoon knife and it is as good as my Sloyd with out a doubt. I'm saving now for a small detail knife and a large Spoon knife from Paul and can't wait to order it! Thanks again for the great knives and keep up the good work, . Curt T. Pendleton, In.

Sloyd Knife

My style of carving is in keeping with traditional Sloyd. Using green wood to carve kuksa, spoons and bowels. What can you say about a knife that just works! In fact, I’ve ordered two more in other sizes, that’s how impressed I am with these knives. The blade is robust in order to withstand the torque necessary to carve a variety of woods used in Sloyd, and of course it comes very sharp. The edge retention is phenomenal with the D2 steel, a real plus.
