I'd heard about Aventus for years before finally buying a bottle, and I understand the hype now. The opening is bright and juicy, smoky pineapple and blackcurrant that smells expensive from the first spray. Within twenty minutes it settles into something smoother: birch smoke, a hint of jasmine, and a dry woody base that lingers on my skin for a good eight hours. What impresses me most is how versatile it is. I wear it to the office and to dinner, and it works in both. It's confident without being loud, and I get compliments almost every time. Two spritzes are plenty. The price is steep, no question, and batch variation is real, some smell fruitier, others smokier. But if you want one signature scent that always delivers, this is it.
