Why is the end tapered? Can't set it down on its end and avoid lubricant leakage, etc.

Got the Christy Mack lady sleeve and I enjoy it, but it’s started ripping at the back and had noticeable imperfections on the front even thought I was very careful with it. The booty sleeve has held up well in comparison.
