Careful if you manage to have 2 Delta Plans!
Delta Dental Insurance is in general very good, but I have been disappointed by the plan in the past year. While I've always gone to dentist every 6 months, because of 10yr autoimmune issue, we were watching my front lower teeth as were getting dangerously loose. Thus issue #1, that made me grade a 3.
#1. After visiting orthodontist for 2nd opinion, plus an additional dentist for #3, all agreeing, it was deemed the only way to keep 4 bottom front teeth was to adhere them by a 'dam' behind them. Otherwise I would lose them and need total replacements. Delta Dental didn't think this was justified!
#2. I know this is something extremely rare I hope, but: I have always paid for my dental plan through my employer. Unfortunately I also inherited the State of IL plan because my husband died recently. Even though the plans are different, be aware there is this little clause that states if you are covered by multiple plans of the same company, they only will pay from what is billed as the primary. Yes, I will drop my employers plan.
