I have found the "Scout Rifle" to be a very romanticized idea. These bipods allow me to have a bipod, a real bipod, when I need one. Yet I can carry the same bipod on my hill people kit bag when I do not need one. This keeps my rifle short, light, handy, and friendly as the good Colonel intended.
