I’ve been using this pen as my daily driver in the office, and it’s been a joy to write with. The design is what drew me in, the peony pattern on Mino washi feels refined, calm, and distinctly Japanese, without being flashy. This pen suits me particularly well because I write with a high grip. The balance and straight body make it comfortable to hold for long sessions, with no strain or awkward positioning. It feels natural and well weighted in the hand. One of my favourite little added touches is the symbolism behind the peony design. In Japanese aesthetics (and more broadly in floral symbolism), peonies represent prosperity, good fortune, love, and honour, a meaningful motif that feels uplifting and thoughtful every time I put pen to paper.

Ordered this pen tray for the first time, and am using it especially for my roller ball and ballpoint pens. These tend to be thinner and fit the grooves in this tray very well. You can use the pen for fountain pens (or any other writing instruments) as well. However, in my personal experience the grooves holding the pens are on the narrow side, and thus, thicker pens do not fit so well. Apart from it's functionality the tray is very well made: the wood quality is outstanding and the classic design is timeless as well as highly aesthetic. Delivery was relatively fast from Japan, and I can recommend this product. Komorebi is a great online seller with very good service and a distinctly friendly Japanese customer service approach.
