'hot sleeper' mattress - The Hybrid
After suffering from the feeling of being cooked on a latex mattress over a 2 year period (and my partner is the opposite and is a cold sleeper so it took me some time to convince him to change as that was his choice!!! I would normally have less on top and stick my feet out the side as means to control my body temp even in winter - fairly typical for post menopausal women!) and trying to discover a better mattress (for a slat bed base) I ordered a Zeek Hybrid. We've had it for about 3 weeks - given the cooler spring we have had in Sydney I am cautious about a total rave how much better it is yet.
Apart from the heat issue (on the latex mattress I would be woken at least twice a night feeling like I was being cooked), it also had to be somewhere between a firm bed for me and a softer mattress for my partner, so the medium level firmness really is great.
The fact that it does not have a 'fluffy top layer' like other mattresses do is also very good as they trap heat and hold the heat around you. Terrible if you are a hot sleeper!
The inner spring core appears to not hold so much heat and I would say that it is about 50-75% better than our previous latex. It's not 100% better and we are yet to go into full summer!
Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
