Excellent price/quality ratio
I researched different mattresses online for weeks before settling on the Recore mattress, reading all the reviews I could find. Being strongly allergic to dust mites, I wanted a mattress that could inhibit or at least slow down the growth of these mites. Features like the graphite latex and the washable silver-infused cover were attractive in that regard.
Upon arrival, the mattress feels quite heavy (impression of quality) but it was a chore to bring upstairs (the handles of the cardboard box are fragile and tear off right away). My initial impressions were that it was more on the firm side than medium-soft as described on the website. As time went by (seven months by the time of this writing), it became softer and more comfortable. It didn’t change much after a month. The firmness suits me just fine as I prefer a firm mattress. The latex top layer is quite soft and we sink through it easily. The middle gel foam layer feels much firmer and prevents you from sinking much further. I like the feeling of sleeping ‘on’ the mattress rather than sleeping ‘in’ that we experience with pure memory foam types. The only negative I find is that it sleeps quite hot despite the cooling gel layer combined with the graphite. I was able to mitigate that to a large extent by using a (real) bamboo mattress cover combined with microfiber or bamboo sheets.
In summary, I would buy the Recore again and I can recommend it to anyone shopping for a medium to medium-firm quality mattress. No need to pay twice to three times the price for a famous brand.
