Very poor customer service once
Very poor customer service once you get the product and have issues with it. Overpriced Huntley fireplace was $799.99 and Home Depot has it for $584.90. No price matching. Was given a $50 courtesy credit. Combine that with a 5% discount at purchasing time and you still are over paying quite a bit. Hardware was missing within the large hardware packet that was enclosed with fireplace and therefore had to pay the carpenter twice to come out because of not being able to assemble it the first time. Company did order and have sent the missing or defective replacement pieces. My carpenter came back only to find more pieces missing or incorrect replacement pieces were sent. I went higher up in company to Andrew to complain and explained in detail all the issues. I got a nice email back right away and was told he'd investigate and get back to me the next day. That was almost 4 weeks ago! I have written back to Andrew 3-4 times for updates and two days ago to explain still missing pieces. He has yet to respond back. A very professional courtesy would have been to at least respond and tell me your findings. To ignore a customer for a month with emails needing responses after promising to get back to me is really the worst customer service I've ever encountered! I'm a senior citizen so I've had a lot of positive interactions with good companies and good customer services but NOT from Mantels Direct. Do yourself a favor and pay attention to the bad reviews for this company. I wish I had seen them prior to purchasing. I only reviewed the fireplace itself and even that had issues with packing the correct items.
