How come it took me

How come it took me a long time to get a replacement honing rod? I guess, I get by with out one. But on rare occasions I find myself needing that extra realignment when cutting vegetables and thinly slicing a roast. I've been relying with the bottom of my ceramic/porcelain cup or saucer to get by in a pinch until I find the time to drop off my knives at The Cooks Edge for sharpening. The Cooks Edge ceramic honing rod have a soft grip plastic handle and with the plastic tip resting on the cutting board when honing. I chose the white which is more coarse for my application. Three pulls on each side does the trick vs six. The decision making was greatly influenced by the staff of The Cooks Edge. They are three specialists after all. They know their trade and the product they sell. Now, my cup and saucer's job is for tea and toast.

My first time in the

My first time in the shop was a wonderful experience. Very knowledgeable and has no problem with taking the time to assist in finding the right knife or product your looking for. I have a great knife and cutting board that I am extremely happy with. I would like to thank the cutting edge team for what they do and Marcel for taking the time to help me. I recommend if your looking for a quality knife to visit the cooks edge. Have a good one๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Better late and never. For

Better late and never. For the past decade, I have been wanting to upgrade my J.A. Henkel Santoku knife. After contemplating and just resorting to having my knives sharpened, I decided to get a Hatsukokoro Hayabusa with an SG2 blade and maple octagon handle. At first, being used to European handles, I was worried that my grip on the knife would feel awkward, and unable to control it. I was wrong. I now owned it for over a month and can not express my satisfaction when cutting vegetables and thinly slicing a roast to make cheesesteaks. The feel and weight is just right that I do not have to make as much effort in cutting various stuff. This is my second knife purchased from The Cooks Edge, and won't be the last. I usually drop my old knives to be sharpened or stop in the store to say hello, window shop, and get some information from Marcel. Overall am very satisfied with my purchase and know that my purchase is always backed by the knowledge shared with me by the wonderful staff.
