Great way to graph overall usage, not so much in distinguishing between different appliances

Good realtime usage and graph toggles over time, but identification of major electrical draws has been inconsistent at best, particularly with different electrical baseboard heaters across home. New MiniSplit units have never been identified and remain a phantom draw on the system, even though running through a cold Northeast winter

Missed opportunities

This product is ok but could be great. Often requires manual reset which makes it useless when this happens in my vacation home. Needs an api so I can download data and for example understand how I could benefit from time of use rates. The ML pattern recognition only takes you so far and when you have common loads, say a few of the same wattage circulator pumps in your heating system it cannot distinguish and keeps re-finding these as new devices. Has difficulty distinguishing between a dehumidifier and a refrigerator not surprising given the similarities. Probably best for a home with a small number of loads with unique signatures.

Good for high-level info, device detection leaves a lot to be desired

It's great for high-level informational purposes, but the device detection has a lot to be desired. I've had my Sense for over a year and it's only detected a few devices.

Sense monitor is ok

It’s good for letting you know your overall usage but just okay at detecting devices. After 1.5 years it found most major appliances and is about 95% accurate at tracking. It still thinks the toaster and coffee maker are the same when the usage watts are significantly different. It thinks our AC is the dishwasher even though it is 240v vs 120v and significantly different watts. Computers, laptops, and phones have not been detected which have a unique ramping up charging pattern. I don’t think it will ever detect our lights & fans. Same with other appliances where I listed what we have in the house but it can’t recognize that things are turning on/off. It still is only 30% accurate at detecting our EV charging. We also have solar which it accurately tracks but “current bill” and “carbon impact” are totally wrong because they don’t take the solar production into account. I have mentioned this to support but they don’t appear to be interested in correcting these items. Overall I would say that Sense monitor is much more convenient than having CT’s on every circuit, but if you really want to know how much energy things are using, this is hit or miss.
