Who I am: part stay-at-home-mom with a 3.5 year old and 8 month old, cloth diapering, primary shopper, cleaner, cook, caregiver, etc. What I use: an old-fashioned, non-HE top-loading GE washer with agitator, only about a year old, opted for this mainly because of the cloth diapering and distrust of appliances with computers (see: gas range/oven we just replaced in May because motherboard went bad and could not be repaired or replaced...) What I think of MGF: I LOVE IT. In the past, I would have 3 separate detergents for everything: homemade for diapers, unscented "green" detergent from off the shelf for the sensitive skin of our older son (lots of eczema etc.), and then something more conventional for sheets, towels, the adult laundry, workout clothes, etc., might also add un-green boosters to the wash. Now, granted, for the first two years we lived in this house, we had extremely hard city water - so it is also very chlorinated. For Christmas this year, my parents put in a water softener for us (and a water filtration system for the drinking water - definitely staying hydrated now!) and that has gone a long way to cleaner laundry, but I got a bunch of big jugs on sale with coupons in the spring this year and the laundry was still not fully clean, still kind of stinky, if it sat in the drawer, it got very musty, and most of all, our sensitive skin guy was itchy to the point of not being able to go to sleep at night, despite hydrocortisone cream, etc. I think that even with switching in between detergents, there was still residue in the machine so it was still getting to him...but my homemade, probably the most green solution of all pre-MGF, would absolutely not get all his rough and tumble boy stains out, plus not 100% toilet trained at night...you get the drift. I have been completely happy with MGF since making the switch and the ease of confidently knowing everything is safe to throw in there has made me actually look forward to doing laundry - never thought that would happen. I love not having a bunch of different detergents, worrying about what is running out, what is on sale at the moment, a billion different piles as I'm sorting (or not sorting...arrrrgh)...it's actually getting done now and I'm staying on top of it, no easy feat for me as I don't think I have much cleaning endurance naturally. I also love this company, been so impressed with their customer service, mission, and practices. I love that they incorporate the non-profit in Jamaica in their dryer angels, that they really listen and respond to customer questions and concerns, they stand by their product (as they should), and that I can feel I'm at least making some small, realistic, and sustainable steps toward helping reduce waste, reduce toxic chemicals both immediately and in our water supply, and simplifying a task I really didn't do well at for our family - and not only that, helped me to actually enjoy it!! I just started using these products and am amazed at how clean my washer is! I love the scents of the products. I washed my 18 year old grandsons baseball pants and he was amazed at how clean they were. He wants me to tell his Mother about these products!

Love that you can refill the bottle with these packages. It also helps me not to over use tons of laundry detergent each month. After spending $40 last month on lots of bottles of laundry detergent is when I decided to us the Green refills.
