Pool Fence DIY - WP

We had been contemplating getting a fence for a year or so after we moved in. Especially for the winter as we had created this makeshift fence with orange construction netting, because when it snows you can’t differentiate the pool from the ground since its covered. I dont even know if this fence is meant to stay up in the winter but I’d rather replace the occasional pole than have someone fall in an icy pool. What really sealed the deal was the fact that we were going to be re-epoxying our pool earlier this summer. That would require us to have a 10 ft deep concrete hole in our yard for 2 weeks at least and I was not comfortable with that at all. So we decided to get a fence before starting that project. The fence came very quickly. Lots of boxes but thats to be expected. You also get a solid amount of replacement netting with it which is good because I was worried about durability. Though nothing has broken thus far. It comes with a premeasured pattern piece so you know exactly where to drill your holes so its fairly easy to install. Total install took a couple of hours. Love it so far, makes me feel way less stressed about kids and dogs being outside. Especially since I recently adopted a dog with one eye so was very worried about her slipping in as she has no peripheral vision on one side. I was worried it would make my pool feel very closed in since the concrete area around it is small, but it really doesn’t. Theres still plenty of room in the fence for kids to move around and for our big storage tote for toys to fit. Also definitely recommend getting the lights for the posts. It just makes it look better at night I think, we did every other post. I think theyre worth it if you’re already spending the money. The only issue we had was one of our gates wasnt lining up correctly, but we think this is because it was installed on a curve since my pool isn’t rectangular, so we did some shuffling of pieces and figured out how to fix it. I do like that you have the option to lock the gates with a key so they just cant be opened. Overall, I have a lot of children in my family. As well as pets in my home, so this fence was definitely worth the safety it provides. Obviously it is not a substitution for direct supervision, but I like having a physical barrier inbetween kids and drowning.

Great people!! thanks for all your help. they had to call me because I ordered the wrong gate and they knew it do yourself a favor don’t try to use that old hammer drill you got get yourself a new one with the drill jig made the job really go smooth thanks again great product!!

Great product, It came in very quick (less then a week) even though it was suppose to be on back order. I was kind of worried because no one has done a review about setting up on a wood deck. It works great only thing I would say is under you deck boards add a 2x to give to more depth to drill through, This will help make it more stable.
