We recently changed our old combination of a conventionally-sprung mattress and memory foam topper for a Leesa Mattress. Choosing a new mattress is a bit of an act of faith with concerns about it being too hard, too soft or uncomfortable in some other way. Leesa's policy allowing us to sleep on it for an extended period and return it if not satisfied gave us the confidence to go ahead with it. We have been really pleased with it - it really is very comfortable. The only downside was that for the first couple of weeks or so, the strong mildew-like odour emitted while the mattress degassed was not pleasant. However, once that had gone it's all but forgotten. Well I can confirm that we unfolded ours and left the bedroom windows wide open for a few hours before making the bed, and we have not had any of the chemical smells that some people talk of, and we are thrilled with the new mattress. We do tend to sleep with the windows cracked open summer and winter so maybe keeping good ventilation has helped us but I have no problem saying to anyone that smell was definitely not an issue on day 1 or even today. We do think we are slightly warmer in bed than before, but not uncomfortably so, so that is not a problem. We have down-rated from a 13 tog to a 10 tog duvet and still are cosy and warm every night. My wife and I have both said our sleep patterns have improved and we sleep longer between waking up which we say has helped us sleep better and are very glad we took the plunge to make the purchase. The mattress was delivered really quickly and it was easy to set up. It is so comfortable and has really helped with my back pain which I have suffering with for some months. The only downside is that it does still have the odour which I thought would have disappeared by now. But it was still well worth it! Thank you.
