I recently started work at an artisan bakery where they make beautiful croissants and pastries. I chose this apron for my unofficial “uniform” and I am so glad I did.
It is extremely functional: nothing in the front pocket falls out, even my phone and notebook stay secure when I’m folding enormous tubs of dough; the apron covers my hips like a lovely fitted skirt, and sits well over my bust; the generous quantity of linen means I always have a clean section that serves as a handy towel; so far it has protected me equally well from flour, sticky caramel and dishwater; and it has been easy to wash. (I can’t comment on how it irons yet, I guess I could have ironed it, but it unwrinkled satisfactorily from body heat once I put it on. )
Just as importantly to me as its practicality, is that it is BEAUTIFUL to wear. The clever design is so quick and easy to put on and means there is no time spent tying or adjusting, and there are NO strings pulling or rubbing on my neck!! (A fact I will be even more grateful for in summer I am sure). The crossover back just by itself is very pretty as well. Customers have already commented about how nice it looks.
I have bought three of these aprons for work in the colours clay, sage and natural and every day am excited about putting them on! I also bought two more (in jade and pinstripe) so that I can wear them in my kitchen and garden at home. So I guess it’s not a uniform at all really - it quickly became something I love to wear everyday. They would also look amazing either professionally or hand-stitched with my name or other embroidered decorations. The linen is excellent quality, so I look forward to enjoying this investment for years to come. Thank you for my new favourite outfit!! And for delivering it so quickly as well.
