Water cost in the state
Water cost in the state that I live is extremely expansive due to routinely long drought period year in year out. I therefore make it a habit to check my water meter on a weekly basis to make sure the meter does not run when all the water is shutoff. I also record the meter reading weekly to make sure the water usage is not too far off on any particular week (this would detect the smallest leak over a week period). Through this exercise I had discovered 3 under slab leaks in 2 years which would have wasted a lot of precious water and at the same time cost me a great deal of money and damage to the property. All those time I went out to check and record the meter I wish I had a device like the Flume which would save me the trouble to do the recording manually. The Flume is like a dream comes true for me. It is very easy to install and extremely accurate in the water usage reading. I compare the meter's usage reading with the Flume in the first couple weeks of using it and its reading is within 0. 5 cubic feet on a weekly basis - that is damn close to exactly the same in practice. The best thing is the Flume monitors for any water leakage every minute of the day and send me a email and push notification when a leak or unusually high usage within a certain time frame is detected. This allows me to call in the plumber before the leak gets out of hand. It also gives me a breakdown of usage based on activities and appliances so I know how to adjust their usage or replace them to prevent unnecessary waste of water. I highly recommend this device, it practically pays for itself over time.
