Awesome espresso maker. I’ve owned
Awesome espresso maker. I’ve owned the original Flair Neo since it came out and upgraded to the bottomless basket with the pressure gauge. Two problems though, capacity and preheating. By design nothing I could do there, and that meant less espresso brewing for me which is just sad.
Finally enter the day I get the 58 Plus 2! Everything is solved and I am excited to make espresso again. The workflow isn’t a chore, it’s enjoyable and I can focus on what’s important about the process instead of workflow details. I’m still learning but love it so far.
I don’t regret starting with a cheaper model so I could learn (also the 58 wasn’t out yet) but now I could see the argument of just starting with the 58 if 1. Your budget allows and 2. You know you’re into the espresso game. I’ll be honest, I make espresso pretty infrequently so I was content with the budget Flair, I just didn’t drink much espresso. Now though, I look forward to making espresso and will enjoy it more often. I think the 58 Plus 2 strikes a good balance of letting me dive into the (very deep) world of espresso without spending money on gear and time on maintenance.
