Still searching for my favorite scent, but I really like the candle!

I've bought from BCS for years, but I was disappointed this time. The santal reed diffuser doesn't smell anything like the candle - it's very strong and perfumey and gave me a headache. The catskills candle has an extremely light scent, which is disappointing considering how much it cost (and it's not a huge candle). I haven't tried the other candles I ordered yet - in the past I've really enjoyed BCS's scents but they're falling short for me now.

After reading a glowing review on Wirecutter I tried 3 candles. All 3 cost about the same as one premium candle I normally buy. Two of them have basically no scent. They’re basically $30 unscented candles, not such a good deal after all. The third, the signature Brooklyn scent is overpowering, after 15 minutes I have to blow it out, very perfumey. I think I’ll stick with Le Labo….

I love the Catskills fragrance, but I am disappointed with the small area the diffuser actually scents in my home. Compared to some other brands, the amount of liquid and length of the reeds are less, which may be exasperating the problem. It’s a great scent, by far my favorite, so this is disappointing.

The container is pretty and the scent is amazingly strong and reaches every corner of my living room. Unfortunately, I don't much care for the scent. It's too sweet with an undertone of something else I don't like. I gifted the Fern and Moss diffuser and it was well received. I'd like to try another scent when I can afford it, as the diffuser is pricy. It would be worth it for a scent I like because it's so much stronger than any other candle or diffuser I've tried.
