Although assembly was a long process (two and a half days with breaks) we couldn't be more pleased with the Metropolitan Murphy bed. My husband and I are 70 and 68 - the only time we needed another hand was lifting the unit to the wall as I am only 4'11'. The instructions are excellent - we read thoroughly before assemble as well as during and watched the videos. We did make one modification - we added a board at the head of the bed to keep the mattress from slipping down into the cabinet when closing the bed platform. Fortunately the wood crate it was delivered in had one panel of melamine board so we cut that to size and bolted to the head of the bed frame.

Absolutely love my murphy bed. We installed this in a room that isn't used frequently but we wanted the option to have guests there if needed. We went with the white version and the room looks so much bigger than it did without. I love that you can build it the way you want with/without doors, etc. I had a few shelves that were damaged in transit but a quick email to customer service email and they were shipped out the next day. I've referred this company to many friends/coworkers and can't stop talking about how great the quality of this is for the price.

Comfortable mattress for a Murphy bed application especially at that price point.

love the result! This is perfect for our office and "overflow" guests. We combined the metropolitan with Penthouse doors and are thrilled. We were so impressed with the instructions and care put into writing the manual. Very explicit and good graphics. That plus the videos were extremely helpful. (although video background music became irritating after watching several segments several times) Our only problem was that we needed someone with more muscles to pull the springs when assembling the king size bed face. Its a very heavy duty system. But the rest my husband and i did ourselves.

Installation instructions are very detailed and well written. Installation took about 6 hours and I took my time reading reading the instructions several times on each step. Got stuck on one step and emailed Breda customer service at 10:40PM on a Saturday night, and got a response from a technician in 15 minutes! Also, I highly recommend using an impact driver for securing the bed to the wall. Luckily I own one, but for others without one I would highly recommend borrowing or purchasing one.
