My so-in-law has the HORL2 and I was tempted to get the new HORL 3. The stronger magnets certainly hold the knives well, even the smaller knives were held above the work surface. It was very easy to use the sharpening drum, just make sure that the bayonet fittings for the sharpening discs are tight before starting or they can work loose. It isajoy to now have a set of sharp knives!
