i've had a cast iron
i've had a cast iron bedframe before, so i was a bit disappointed by how wobbly the frame is. i'm brainstorming ways to stiffen the corners or potentially attach it to my wall.
also, the delivery was very difficult. when assembly on site was included in the purchase price, i assumed the bed would be in some collapsed state. which, technically, it was. but the roughly 7'x7' head and footboard did not come close to fitting up our stairs. had i not had a balcony, engineering skills, an eagle scout background and adequate strength, there would be no way to get the frame into our bedroom. our stairs do have a bend in them, but it is a wide bend which has been fine for several large items to pass the corners (such as a 14' long 2x12 and furniture).
i STRONGLY suggest that you indicate at the time of purchase the size of the delivered item so the next person to buy this is not stuck the way we were.
the delivery crew in their doomed effort to get the frame up the stairs did gouge out a section of our wall. this needs to be repaired.
