Watching Grass Grow
I prepared my soil 28 days ago after it had been dormant for several years because of the drought. I laid my seed rolls down (550 sq. ft.) the same day. I used pins that were made to hold drip irrigation hose in place on each end of the roll to help hold it down. I also started watering as it was put down to hold it in position and get the growing process started. We watered several times a day as described and kept the area wet for a couple of weeks then started backing off the frequency. We started seeing sprouts within the first week. I mowed for the first time this evening, on the twenty-eighth day after "planting". I am impressed with how easy the entire process was. The lawn came up even and much thicker than I had expected and I had no bare spots. It was an adventure (guess I have a dull life) getting up every morning and seeing how much more growth there was than the previous day. The hardest part of the process was watching grass grow.
