Daily emails offer encouragement and inspiration
Hi Mort. My husband and I have been married for just over 30 years, and we (at my suggestion) recently enrolled in the Duo Track. We have always struggled with dealing with conflict. Where he is very private, independent, autonomous, and inhibited (maybe reluctant to share sounds a bit less harsh!) we don't enjoy an emotional or physical connection in our marriage. He feels that my expectations in that regard are unrealistic, but your emails affirm that they are not! For many years, among other things, I have consistently used talk charges, touch charges, given presence and presents--although I didn't call them that--in an effort to "make love " in the marriage. Many nights I go to bed discouraged, and I don't think I will have the energy or the will to try again tomorrow. But, I believe in the love we once shared and in the sanctity of marriage, so I somehow motivate myself to try again by the next morning. Truth be told, though, I am exhausted from trying to self-motivate! Your daily emails have given me a great source of support --and a much needed break from trying to self-motivate. and encourage myself to keep trying! So, even though we are participating in the Duo Track, I appreciate--and continue to read-- the daily emails that offer me hope and inspiration. You can never get too much of a good thing!
