Highly recommend. Former DevaCurl devotee here, for maybe 15+ years. I've read the curly girl book. Deva was once pitched to me as a low-/no-oil line that wouldn’t “clog” hair follicles, unlike something like Moroccanoil. I’m not sure that pseudo-science fully checks out, but at least anecdotally, Deva only worked for me on wash day, and did little to tame frizz beyond that. My biggest hair issue using Deva was that my hair would fall flat so quickly.
Ouidad, on the other hand, feels like it pleasantly coats my hair in a way that lasts 3+ days post-wash. I've gotten noticeable, natural volume. Paired with sleeping in a silk bonnet, I wake up with hair that feels strong, healthy, and more immediately stylable.
I recommend using the Curl Shaper shampoo and conditioner alongside the 3-in-1 milk and the volumizing gel. My hair lives mostly in 2C, but with Ouidad, my 3A curls pop through far more consistently and with less effort.
