If I was reviewing the formula only, I would give us five stars. The texture and feel are wonderful. It goes on completely clear and feels great. Unfortunately, the scent has a very strong artificial perfume note. Worse still, this fragrant never fades. It’s just a strong hours after application. It’s still there even when you wash it off! I’ve never had a sunscreen have such a persistent fragrance so long after application. For that alone, I cannot recommend this otherwise great sunscreen.

Mantl is not outright enough that you are opting into a $70 subscription with a trial box, and it's convoluted too because they have two product pages for the same trial box (one free, one paid); this is deceptive and bad design. I was shocked when I got a notification that I was being charged $70 for something I didn't buy from Mantl. $70 is a lot of money to be surprised with and I regret getting a trial box- not to mention the sticker tape on the outside both sides of the box seemed to be tampered with when I received it. To top it off, I'm not able to go anywhere on the site to create an account to manage the subscription I unknowingly opted into, so I cannot cancel or postpone shipment without having to take time out of my day to contact customer support, who is unavailable on the weekends. Everything about this seems like unethical, bad UX from beginning to end of my experience. Would not recommend this to a friend.

I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and order two bottles of the facial soap. It lathers well and feels great on the skin. The package arrived minus the product. I refused the package and returned it. I sent an email to hello@mantl.com attempting to make them aware of the issue. I have not received a response to my message.

I only received 1 of 2 bottles I ordered and the bottle top was broken. So I changed the top with an old one I had. The new packaging is terrible. The bottles need to be protected.
