So far, so good at 3.5 was daily use of 20mins
It’s only been about 3.5 weeks since I got my Hooga Pro300 panel. I use it daily 10 minutes on my face/hairline and then 10 minutes on the back of my neck and shoulders. I have a lot of inflammation in general because I have a connective tissue disease that affects the stability of my soft tissues. My neck, shoulders and ribs are a mess. For my face I’m hoping it can help my skin and promote hair growth on my head. So far the difference I’ve seen is I’m 80% sure that I actually am having a lot of new hair growth where my hairline has been receding and thinning. The light box is up high and angled down so it should be hitting the top of my head to some degree, so I’m hoping that’s enough for it to stimulate hair growth at the top of my head too. I don’t know the “rules” of RL/IRL to be most effective- like does it help the areas that it’s not directly shining on? That’s the question I’m most curious about.
I haven’t noticed any difference in my sleep unfortunately- but I also haven’t even had it for a month yet. Out of the 3.5 weeks I’ve had it, I’ve only missed two days of light therapy. I do my sessions early afternoon.
I ended up buying my own glasses because the ones that came with the device (your basic tanning goggles) hurt really bad as they are very hard on my bone structure on my face. I know many ppl don’t use the goggles at all and say it’s fine, but I don’t know if it’s because I have lighter eyes, but my eyes-even while closed the whole time- started aching very badly throughout all the muscles around my eyes for several days. Now that I got the new glasses that also have light guards on the tops and sides of the glasses, I don’t have that problem anymore, even tho they aren’t a tight fit against my face. Since we don’t have long term use studies on light therapy- I’d recommend wearing protective glasses always.
My thanks to Hooga and all the people who were kind enough to review this product and others like it here on this site and onTikTok (Beatrice) and Reddit- it really helped this process of choosing this company. I had done research a couple years ago into RL boxes and got overwhelmed quickly and stepped away from looking into products. Beatrice the Anri-plastic lady in TT helped to spark my interest again and provided really great research studies to back this up and then I confirmed it through more research of my own. Hooga thank you for making this therapy available to people at a price point that is affordable and without all the extra “hype” that is unsupported by studies to increase and bloat your prices (like many of your competitors do). Wavelengths are important for RL/IRL to work. Many brands out there do not have the supported wavelengths that produce results in studies. Remember: there is no magic bullet and all bodies respond exponentially differently to one certain therapy, whether Red Light Therapy or medications. Cheers!
