I also have a dentist supplied 'appliance' that does not work as well BUT he provided an 'AM (Morning) aligner'. Can you provide this? It is helpful. Also, the tongue strap is very helpful but a little sharp. Could it be a little softer or rounded?

I have in my mind the world's most active gag reflex. When younger and participating in athletic events I often had to modify my mouth guard or spit it out before the onset of the play. Luckily my gag reflex has abated slightly over the years to where I can now occasionally have dental x-rays performed if the tech is quick about her work. Because of this prior experience with my gag reflex I have been reluctant to use "in mouth" devices for my snoring problem. I figured seperate rooms was the answer for my wife so that she could sleep better but we still had the issue of vacations forcing us into a single bedroom situation multiple weeks every year. Because of this I ordered the Zyppah device about 3 weeks ago. I must say that it hasn't been a cakewalk but so far so good. I have followed the instructions using the device for short periods of time initially and distracting my mind from the gag sensation by reading a book or doing a crossword puzzle while wearing it in the evening before bed. I then advanced to short use periods of time (2-3 hrs) while sleeping. I am pleased to say that last night I used the device for the entire night with reasonable comfort and no gagging and no snoring. The excessive salivation has also decreased significantly with continued use. I am now hopeful that come June 1st our trip to Northern Italy will be more pleasant for my wife and I will be delivered from the "snoring doghouse".
