Finally A Way to Pill an Uncooperative Dog
My dog is on multiple pills for various issues, which have to be administered twice a day. Apparently some of them are quite bitter, and try as I might, he eventually reached the point where he knew where I was hiding them—in chicken, in beef, in pill pockets, in cheese. I tried everything. I thought if I could hide the bitter pills in a capsule, it would help. I bought the chicken-flavored gel capsules and though it’s a painstaking process to stuff his meds into them, I am now able to wrap the capsules in a small piece of roast beef (low sodium, sliced thin from my supermarket deli) and it’s like he has no idea the capsules are there. It’s a huge relief.
