Cremo Shave Cream and Moisturizer
Two years ago I discovered the world of "real" shaving. I had used a well known department store brand in a gray metallic tube by the same company that makes a women's make up line. That store brought on a century old English company's shaving product line. I was disappointed in feel and the smell of the product. That got me to my web search for "men's shaving products", and the world became new. Not knowing what I'd like, I search on "best men's shaving products." I ordered 5 different brands within the top 10, one of which was Cremo and Cremo moisturizer. I decided to rate each on several characteristics: 1) Feel of product on my face; 2) Ease and comfort of the shave; 3) Closeness and feel of my face post-shave; 4) Condition of skin post-shave and need for balm/lotion/moisturizer; 5) How long the shave felt "close" for the remainder of the day; 6) Clean-up/condition of my sink after the shave. The winner was/is Cremo! I enjoyed several wonderful shaves using other products, but began to understand Cremo's philosophy of "why have all that thick cream on your face when you just need a well lubricated, comfortable, near-film on your face to get the job done (sic)?" I thought it was just "marketing" on Cremo's part, compensating for their perceived inability to create a product that was luxuriously thick and creamy. Nope...they make their product to barely foam, all while laying down a wonderful, smooth, slick, and very thin layer to make your razor glide like you had a half-inch of thick cream on it. Best of all, at the end of the shave, there is no residue in my sink as happens with the other thick, luxurious creams. It is nice to have them on your face, but that thickness serves no purpose. It looks "right", feels "right", gives a very nice shave, but is "unnecessary." My face feels incredible after a Cremo shave, and the final added touch is using a drop of their moisturizer on each cheek to give my face a nice...dare I say..."glow." Mind you...I am a total man through and through, and the concept of a man using a moisturizer seemed feline to say the least...until we were out to dinner with friends, and the woman said, "Oh my goodness...your face, your face...look at your face...you look...great! What did you do...what did you put on?" I said, "Oh...I got this new shave cream and they had a moisturizer that I thought I'd try." She said, "you look great" and promptly asked her husband "why don't YOU do that?!?!?" It was a good laugh, but I realized that I actually did look pretty good. I can't say what it does. It just makes my face look smoother and nicer. So...this very long review (sorry) highly recommends Cremo shave cream and Moisturizer. Best of all, the text on the Creamo shave cream tube is true. You only need a tiny little bit each shave and the tube says "90 Day Supply." The gray tube from the department store that I used to use (same size) last 3-4 weeks "max." Try Cremo...you'll like it. There are similarly smooth shaves, but none is so economical and simple, and easy to use as Cremo.
