I’m off PPI for good but…
Iquoro is an extremely effective device, I am managing my (very severe) gastric reflux without proton pump inhibitors due to its effectiveness, but it must be used at least 3 times daily. Even if I have to use it for the rest of my life I will because the side effects of the PPI were so horrendous I won’t go back onto them, ever. Unfortunately my GP didn’t prescribe Iquoro for me, although I did give him a copy of all the evidence and I haven’t mentioned it to him again. I do take Gaviscon liquid - usually before bed or if I have eaten injudiciously and I sleep propped up. I am resigned to eating a moderate diet, although I might have the occasional lapse. But like many things I think this is a very individualised form of control and I have made many adjustments but rule no food out completely - everything in moderation sounds trite but it is absolutely true. It would be very useful to have some confirmation that I am using the device absolutely correctly, although my symptom control indicates that I must be doing it ok. The video demonstrations need to focus much more closely to the position of the lips - too much emphasis is made of the timing - everyone can count you don’t have to demonstrate that so prominently, but the mouth lips and facial muscle positions are crucial they need to be seen from as many angles as possible to show exactly how to do it correctly.
