Excellent Investment
I waited a little while after finishing treatment to post my review. I'm happy to report that I couldn't be more satisfied. I read lots of reviews, mostly good, but some bad, before deciding on Candid. This was the only company that offered real orthodontists which was a big deciding factor. I had braces for about 4 years in my youth but after having some dental work done, my retainers no longer fit and I didn't know just how big of a problem it was and didn't get new ones made. Although not bad, my teeth had shifted, leaving a few gaps where there weren't any and some alignment issues. Candid described the whole process. Yes, you should expect to slur for a bit while you get used to wearing the aligners but that goes away quickly. Yes, you need to take them out to eat and brush your teeth after every meal (like you should anyway) and brush or rinse the aligners. Yes, if you pop them in your mouth as is, they may irritate your cheeks but following the FAQ's to file/smooth them a bit helps eliminate that. For me, the hardest part was taking the impressions but I followed their instructions and watched the videos and they were fine the first time. I noticed that the alignment seemed to be off about every other tray. I was initially a bit apprehensive about that but I trusted the process and since my teeth were moving, there would obviously be times they were going to be out of alignment. This was only noticeable when I took them out for brushing. by the 3rd to last tray, I felt that if that was the last tray it would have been worth it but the last few continued to refine the alignment even more. The whitening foam that is placed in the aligners is also very gentle and effective. I plan to continue using that. The last set of aligners will be your retainer that you need to wear nightly. The recommend replacing the retainers every 6 months and they include whitening foam with the order. I was able to use insurance to cover 50% of my aligners, found a coupon online for $25 and used flex spending money to cover the remainder. This was the best money I've spent in a long time.
