Because of the wooden end strip on the edge of carpeting your base plate would not lay flat on the carpet's edge. So I cut a small rectangular section of carpeting as well as a section of the wooden carpet end strip. So now the base fits flush with the floor however now I cannot slide the top piece into the base plate without removing additional carpeting and more of the wooden carpet end strip. So now I am going to have to cut a rectangular piece of wood to elevate the base plate for this to work as I now have an ugly rectangular cut in the edge of the carpet. You need to warn consumers that you product doesn't work very well with carpeting.
