Replacing old cedar dock
The Tommy Dock hardware from my 20+ year old dock was perfectly usable so I ordered three 8 foot kits directly to my door from Tommy Docks. It arrived in three days. It was easy to assemble with clear instructions and the wood quality was very good with no warping or significant damage to the deck boards. Everything was usable. I used deck screws instead of the included galvanized nails which could probably be eliminated. Unfortunately they no longer offer 10 foot sections so I had to build those on my own as I needed some for my existing configuration. Fortunately the written instructions still included the assembly and dimensions instructions for a 10 foot section so I was able to use that as a template. I love the look of cedar over aluminum, composite or other man-made deck materials. I’m very happy with the outcome. As per recommendations on their website I am not going to stain the cedar and just let it age naturally. Thanks Tommy Dock.
