My name is Tommy Solomon, owner/operator of Solomon Yacht Restoration, Llc. Opened my doors in 1985 restoring and repairing boats/yachts for myself finally. When working for others, products other than Silpruf was customary even though many experienced a failure rate sooner than expected. After repeated failures with other caulking products, I was introduced to the Silpruf product line by another Restoration business on the West Coast. Hesitant at first, using only on smaller projects, Silpruf turned out to be one of the best performing caulk products I have used, simple. Capable of joint movement; as boats do flex, elongation and tensile strength has allowed the ports installed in cabin tops well over 10 years ago to outlast the nearest competition and a factual statement people!! I’d also have to rank Silpruf’s working life a plus as I have no need to rush and hurry around attempting to seal a port glass, re-bed a cleat, or seam any joint and worrying about this product glazing over. Other well-known products start to glaze over in a very short time limiting the ability to produce an exceptional looking end product in addition long lasting. The ole phrase “Your only as strong as the weakest link” holds true in this case as I am responsible for not just my workmanship, I too am responsible for the longevity of my work my clients pay for. Value comes in the manner in which workmanship and products perform, and doubt I’ll be using anything else for the foreseeable future.
