Bokksu provides a great product but terrible service and has a tendency to sign you up for "subscriptions" when you are purchasing a one off or a one year subscription only. It feels dishonest. I purchased a few Bokksu boxes as gifts and was disgusted to find out that even though I signed up for one only, I was automatically billed for a second one. When I complained about it, NOTHING CHANGED. I actually signed up a friend for a Bokksu subscription for one year and was going to renew it this month when I found out it was automatically renewed. It cost over 500 dollars. WHO DOES THIS? I know gift giving follows etiquette in Japan but this company seems to be all about signing people up without their consent. I have complained about it at least three times in written form and got basically lip service in response. When a company takes money from you and does not offer a refund more than once, it is a dishonest and unethical company. It may not bother you about the automatic renewals without consent of the consumer, but it points to deeper issues around ETHICS.

Boxes are great, but it is very unclear when boxes will actually arrive

Christmas was ruined, thanks a lot. Gift was stuck in transit, never arrived, nobody notified me (gift giver) thank god I didn't give them the recipient email or they would have been spammed false promises.

For some reason there was a massive lapse in the continuity of when the boxes were shipped. It wasn't until I wrote in that I found out it was a renewal issue. Its been two months since the last box was received.

The box was not delivered correctly. Instead of delivering to the onsite front desk attendant or the actual mail/delivery attendant, the Bokksu delivery person tossed the package on the ground outside of the apartment building. Given that the cost of delivery is almost what the box costs, this is terrible.
