CF5 is outstanding--exceeded expectations in every way
Seemed like an extravagant piece ot expensive equipment that I was not sure I could justify, but I really wanted to graduate from plastic fermenters. So, I took the SS conical leap and saved up for the CF5. First beer in the CF5 was a Oatmeal Stout fermented with WLP004 Irish yeast, and the CF5 held the spunding limited 10 PSI like a champ. The resulting beer was the smoothest and cleanest stout I have ever had--a very noticeable difference to me. Second batch was a Pumpkin Ale with WLP002--same smooth/clean taste, but without scrubbing any of the English ale accents. So, for me, fermenting under pressure is a real and tangible difference. But, I *love* transferring under pressure to a corny keg in 2-3 minutes--easy, simple and effective without O2 exposure. Cleanup afterwards is simple and easy. While I wish there was some kind of clear window to peer into the fermenter when it's bubbling away, I am never going back to plastic and will likely add another CF5 or Flex+ soon to round things out. Love the CF5--highly recommended!!
