If you want the sound of a U-87 without a second mortgage, a stereo pair of these mics will cost you less than half. I was a little on the fence with the stock version of the WA-87. It had a midrange bump that I didn't care for. The TAB transformer mod by Zenpro smooths that out nicely. Zenpro's service was great, I didn't place my online order correctly and they called me that day to get things right.
