Tribute Humbuckers also great for jangly pop sounds!
I put a set of Sheptone Tribute Humbuckers into my (circa 2001 Samick plant) Epiphone Sheraton II. I had seen some reviews and videos of others demonstrating the sound of these pickups, but they were all playing some fantastic bluesy licks. That was great, but that's not my playing style. The recipe that might get closer to my influences and playing style is like this: one cup each of James Honeyman-Scott and Andy Summers, a dash of Rick Nielsen and a tablespoon of Nile Rogers. So I wasn't sure how they'd sound for me. But rest assured, they're great for what I do and I just love them. Nice and clean when I want that and a little crunchy when some of that is required. Now, unfortunately, I'm starting to look at my other guitars and wonder which will be the next one to get a set of Sheptone pickups (someone put in a good word for me with Santa, will you?)...
