Good phone for some people.
The phone itself is very good.
However, although the numerals are big, the letters on the keypads are not; which is understandable because three letters must fit onto one keypad as well as one very big number, but that means they're hard to see if someone texts a lot.
This is a phone for an older person who keeps their phone numbers in a book and refers to that to make calls. It's for an older person who has not previously been used to a touch phone - which is much more intuitive.
It's for an older person who does not text very much but primarily rings and it's for an older person who has fairly good eyesight. Good enough to see a smaller screen than a touch phone would have.
The red buttons on the side are a great idea. Contrast is good for people with poor recognition skills and diminished eyesight. The big numerals are great. The SOS button is also great!
The directions on how to put in a sim card and a memory card are limited, but I would assume - by the good level of service I've received - that I would be able to get help if I needed it.
Unfortunately, my older parent has used a touch phone for some time now and is not able to adapt to this style of scrolling and choosing options and to the very small screen size. Which is unfortunate. I've had to resort to returning to a touch screen phone and turning off all data/media so the "bells and whistles" are no longer confusing.
However, the phone itself is just fine. But when purchasing, I suggest, you need to find out what your "older person's" limitations are, what they're used to, and buy accordingly.
