A great bit of kit sadly missing Google home integration

I love my probe and have cooked my sunday roasts flawlessly since despite a very unpredictable oven. I only wish it had Google Home integration.

Good Piece of Kit

Excellent. My only complaint is that it takes a long time to calculate the cooking time remaining. If this was shorter it would be perfect!

I Love it..

I do love it, but the range is not brilliant. As long as you keep the phone and the Meater block close to the probe it's all good, but it will lose signal if you go into another room. This is not a bug, just a fact of Bluetooth life. As long as you know you need a second dedicated Device if you want wireless levels of connectivity. OR buy the bigger block version (which I really want!) with the built in Wi-Fi. What do I really like. Simplicity of setup. Takes literally 20 seconds to insert the probe and get going. No wires.... ish... see above. Clean and no fuss. The probe is dead easy to clean and very sharp, so goes in easily. Coolness factor - it is definitely a good discussion point and all the mates want one when they see it working. IT WORKS..... I cannot overstate enough how well this gadget does its job. I've had perfect meat now for more than 6 months.... It's a gadget every kitchen should come with. BTW I use it more in my Oven than the BBQ !!

12 months of Meater

I've had my Meater for a little over a year now. It comes in a really nice wooden holder that is also the charger. This had a magnetic base that allows it to be stored on the front of my fridge so I never loose it. It was very easy to get set up, and I find it very easy to use. It turns on and connects to my phone as soon as you remove from the base unit. So far I've used it for various sized meat joints. Beef, Pork, Turkey, chicken. I've also used it for Meat loaf, Baked Potatoes and Fruit cake. All needed a little figuring out for the target temp. But once figured they all cooks well and was a lot easier than guess work. The couple of negatives that I have. It has quite a short range. So you need to have a phone or similar device permanently next to the oven/BBQ and a second to carry with you to keep a check on the cook. The metal contact at the top of the probe, if you don't keep it really clean wont charge when it's back in the holder. I had a couple of times when I went to use the probe and it hadn't re-charged, this was why. And lastly in the pass month or so the black plastic bit now pulls out of the main metal section. I'm worried as I'm guessing it will no longer but water tight and stuff will get inside a break the device. This is a pain as this is supposed to be for pulling the probe out of the meat. I would recommend but if it fails soon that's £90 for a year and a half of use.

Generally great!

It's the best thermometer out there. I'd prefer some more features,.like showing in advance the planned resting time as part of time remaining, and the ability to tell the app you are going to reposition the thermometer to check the other parts of the joint of meat. OR perhaps you should release a seperate instance read probe that you can use to check other parts of the meat that those readings also go into the app. The more I think.about that the more I think that would.be awesome
