12 months of Meater
I've had my Meater for a little over a year now. It comes in a really nice wooden holder that is also the charger. This had a magnetic base that allows it to be stored on the front of my fridge so I never loose it. It was very easy to get set up, and I find it very easy to use. It turns on and connects to my phone as soon as you remove from the base unit.
So far I've used it for various sized meat joints. Beef, Pork, Turkey, chicken.
I've also used it for Meat loaf, Baked Potatoes and Fruit cake. All needed a little figuring out for the target temp. But once figured they all cooks well and was a lot easier than guess work.
The couple of negatives that I have. It has quite a short range. So you need to have a phone or similar device permanently next to the oven/BBQ and a second to carry with you to keep a check on the cook.
The metal contact at the top of the probe, if you don't keep it really clean wont charge when it's back in the holder. I had a couple of times when I went to use the probe and it hadn't re-charged, this was why.
And lastly in the pass month or so the black plastic bit now pulls out of the main metal section. I'm worried as I'm guessing it will no longer but water tight and stuff will get inside a break the device. This is a pain as this is supposed to be for pulling the probe out of the meat.
I would recommend but if it fails soon that's £90 for a year and a half of use.
