Poor range I walk 1 meter away from my smoker and it drops out. After looking into this there is a pack with a WiFi extender and 4 probes but its prohibitively expensive. This should have been available with the pack I purchased and better highlighted in the details the short range.

This was an awesome product until it completely died :( too expensive to replace every handful of uses

It's not as foolproof as I'd hoped.

Very disappointed once again. Have now used this product several times, only once was the meat anywhere near cooked to my requirements. Follow the instructions to the letter re: probe placement etc but meat is still raw in the middle despite meater telling me it was done. Have returned to my cheap meat thermometer that has never failed to date.

The product is designed to transmit meat temps to your phone whilst cooking, the problem is that the blue tooth does not connect to your phone unless you have it practically sitting on the BBQ/smoker. Contacted Meater and was told that I should have bought the Meater Plus as the Meater doesn't work with a hooded BBQ, which is pretty much every BBQ. Incredibly disappointing especially for the huge price tag!
