Neunaber Neuron is a big brain overdrive
Wish I could give it a 10/10 but 5/5 will have to suffice. After learning the controls, I sat down to create 15 presets based on famous overdrive pedal tones, and combining them with my MIDI controller has given me more overdrive than I could ever need. This Sunday, I gave our sound engineer stank face after one big chord on my King of Tone preset. I'm blown away. And it doesn't just sound great, it's also carefully and beautifully designed. To wit: There is no momentary dropout or transition noise between presets. It's probably smoother than an analog pedal footswitch would be.
A few years ago, digital amplifier modeling crossed the Rubicon and became, suddenly, widely utilized by a huge range of guitarists, myself included. The Neunaber Neuron represents a similar paradigm shift for me; an overdrive that offers all the advantages a digital pedal can in 2021, and none of the drawbacks, tonal or otherwise.
