The iFi Zen Blue 3 is a high-quality piece of equipment in a handsome brushed metal case. I'm using it to enable LDAC Bluetooth transmission from a Samsung 4K television to Status Pro X Earbuds. Samsung only supports their proprietary SSC codec, which only works with Samsung earbuds. The Zen Blue 3 enables the use of non-Samsung wireless earbuds/headphones. Set up is straight forward if you follow the instructions and set the various switches correctly. This is a hardware-based solution as the controls are all on the front panel - there is no remote control. The iFi Nexus app (Android and iOS) is useful to select codecs and perform firmwear upgrades, but it does not control operation. Just be sure the Zen Blue 3 is set to RX (receive) mode when doing this and switch back to TX (transmit) mode for use. Performance is first rate. Color lights confirm which codec is in use. I can hear detail that previously was not audible, with no observed latency (using optical TOSLINK input connection. I explored other solutions, but the Zen Blue 3 seemed to be the premium option at a reasonable price. HeadAmp was very easy to do business with and offered the best price available. The website description offered a clean and easy to read summary of the key specs and confirmed that the Zen Blue 3 was what I was looking for.
