GC HD Lives up to the hype
I was a little hesitant to purchase because, well, let's face it, it's a pricey investment. My friends and I still get together to play Phantasy Star Online on the Cube and I really wanted a clear picture on my 60 inch TV. True that we could play on a CRT, but having a tube TV that size isn't practical for me and splitting the screen four ways on what I have doesn't give us a lot of room. Anyway, this device is everything I hoped for. The picture is razor sharp and I don't notice any input delay at all. I loathe input delay, so, I was really trying to see if I could notice any. I'm happy to say I haven't. The colors are vivid, the picture is crisp, and this is a plug and play device that is super easy to use. So far I've played, PSO, Mario Kart Double Dash, Mario Golf, Mario Party 4 & 5, Mario Sunshine, 1080, F-Zero GX, Animal Crossing, and maybe a couple other titles. Everything looks fantastic, all of the mentioned games do have progressive mode that must be enabled to get the best picture quality possible, but that is super easy to do. Most games prompt you when turned on asking if you would like to enable progressive mode. To give you idea of the quality, games look like an HD re-release ok modern consoles. Think ICO/Shadow of the Colossus on PS3, or Jet Set Radio HD on the 360. It's that good. I've only used the device on my 60" Panasonic plasma, but I think it will work great on any TV with an HDMI connection. I hope this helps any one thinking of purchasing. For me, it was worth every penny.
