Poor service when receiving a dirty and wet used product
I bought my fiancé a vacuum coffee maker. It arrived and I gifted it to him, only to have him open this gift and find the unit had been used (it was dirty and WET with parts of it outside of the actual main box). You can imagine how that feels as the gift-giver, and how disappointing that might be.
Accidents happen, so I contacted b8ta who asked me to return the unit, buy a new one, then I'd be credited for one of them. I consider that poor service, to ask me to buy another and wait to be reimbursed.
Their response was they would ship me a new one once they got my return. I felt like for an error like that (to receive a soaking wet and dirty unit), they should immediately express me one while the other one was in transit.
After back and forth, they said they would ship me a new one once they could verify I had taken mine to a FedEx store. Well, I would have to take time from my work day, go to a public setting (which I don't even grocery shop during pandemic), and since I don't have a car, I'd have to walk considerably to a Kinkos.
I found I could order direct or on Amazon and promptly returned my unit. I will no longer shop at b8ta.
