My SMSL A300 came in the mail and I waited till 1:00AM to try and hear how much ZZZZZ noise there is when nothing is playing> The volume levels range from 0 to 60. -at dead silence my Db reader displays 47 dbs of silence in my apartment -I'm sitting 5 ft from my speakers at Volume level 30 I can hear the zzz in a dead silent room but it's faint -at volume level 45 this amp has a noticeable buzz -at volume level 50 its obvious there is loud buzzzing. my Db reader jumped from 47 Db to 50/52 dbs I have not played my speakers anything louder that Volume level 38 and honestly didn't notice the buzzing until I was alone in a quite home and purposely tried to hear for buzzing. In my opinion, this amp is pretty good for the money. the only thing I didn't like was the way the amp adjusted or increased the treble frequencies when I was messing with the onboard EQ. I used my MiniDSP to give my speakers that "AIR" feeling / basically bosting frequencies above 18Khz
