The best $599 you'll spend on audio gear. Needs a trigger in/out and loudness/tone control This preamp is as good as all the reviews say. I plugged it in and the soundstage grew noticably larger and more airy. It makes my LA90d monoblocks sound even better than my Hegel H590 (a highly reguarded $10k integrated). Topping has caused me to rethink some of my audiophile journey. One thing I -really- wish the pre90 had is trigger in/out. The LA90's have triggers but no remote. So I have to manually turn 3+ devices on/off. Another thing I really want is loudness/tone control. This is a desktop device for me, used in nearfield. I use it with an RME ADI FS dac which has loudness/tone. So please, Topping, add trigger in/out and copy RME's automatic/programmable loudness feature (which smoothly rolls off loudness boost as volume goes up).
