As a family of 7 and growing mill has been an amazing solution to a very messy problem. We use it daily and it has kept our trash from smelling or attracting flies with kids constantly going in and out. I am able to fill up my garden beds from what would have otherwise gone to waste. I will say after 3mo of use we've gotten our money's worth. A few things to note, I do think after such a short period of time the carbon filter does seem to be struggling a bit with such frequent use. Ever since adding fish to the bin I can now smell a slight odor coming from it while it's running a cycle. I will say increased capacity would be great to accommodate less need to empty it so frequently however the bin itself empty is rather heavy and I could see why a larger bin would not be feasible without reducing the weight of the material used.

I have not a complaint, but a suggestion, make the opening a little larger.

Canister is heavy. So I engage my family members at both ends of the process. Feeding "Young Millie" and cleaning her out packaging the product and applying it to the chickens and rabbits or the compost pile , depending on the content.

Is there anyway to reduce the smell produced by the Mill?

I rent the Mill with a subscription to a local farm pick up. They take my scraps and put them into their compost. It is so nice to have and shockingly so easy to use and clean. The app is very user friendly. The Mill would probably not be great for people who live in very small homes because sometimes it makes loud distracting sounds when an avocado pit or something else more difficult is being ground up. It is honestly a bit pricey to rent, let alone buy, but it’s worth the peace of mind that I am no longer throwing away organic material that could easily go to supporting a local farm. My trash rarely smells because of it. The only downsides are the price and the sounds, but besides that it’s fantastic.
